General comment on data set | The wet extruded briquettes are submitted to the drying process in order to reduce the moisture content. In this stage an oven is used with hot air injection in countercurrent through nine fans (2 HP) and an exhaust fan (7.5 HP), with a drying time of 36 hours at a temperature of 75°C. The fuel is pine wood chips being treated and benchmarked to make 1 kg of dry briquette. Regarding the burning of the chip, it is assumed that it is fully burned as CO2 leaving only the ash. On the other hand, the nitrogen and sulfur contents of the fuels are burned as SO2 and NOx, respectively. |

Time representativeness description | Technology is the most common one found in operation. Projected to be in use for at least another 10 years. On-site collection in the year 2020. All calculations were made in 2020-2021. The Pine Chip data comes from the EcoInvent v3.5 database. These specific flows are not available in the ILCD database, so it is suggested to use them to ensure completeness of the environmentally relevant material/energy flows. |
Technological representativeness | |
Technology description including background system | Drying is done by means of an oven with hot air injection in countercurrent through nine fans (2 HP) and an exhaust fan (7.5 HP). The temperature is controlled by a thermostat. After drying, the oven is opened and unloaded. |
