General comment For the transportation of the charcoal, a Volkswagen 19-330, Constellation, 2p, (diesel) van truck (E5) was used; the total gross weight (PBT) - approved for 16 t load capacity 30 t, 2014. The average distance traveled in the transport from the Charcoal Plant to the packing plant is 97 km. Based on the EEA methodology (2019) it was possible to calculate the average diesel consumption for the truck, being 0.240 kg/km. According to the methodology, the truck used has a Nomenclature For Reporting (NFR) code 1.A.3.b.iii, a hard subcategory 28 - 32t, powered by diesel and governed by Euro V emission legislation (>2013). The following combustion emissions (measured data) from the truck are considered: ammonia, benzene, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, nitrogen oxides, nitrous oxide, NMVOC, PM 2.5 particulates, sulfur dioxide, toluene, xylene. The truck's NMVOC, toluene, and xylene emissions result from imperfect combustion and evaporative losses through diffusion through the tank. Diesel-powered truck. The data regarding construction, operation, maintenance, and end of life of the truck comes from the ecoinvent database (v3.5). |
